Definition: Chorangioma is a benign neoplasm composed of small vascular channels forming a placental hemangioma.
Synopsis
gross appearance variable
- tan to yellow to white to red to brown appearance depending upon vascularity, fibrosis, and hemosiderin deposition.
- Most chorangiomas are small.
- No clinical significance.
- larger tumors can interfere with placental function, potentially causing stillbirth.
