chorangioma

Definition: Chorangioma is a benign neoplasm composed of small vascular channels forming a placental hemangioma.

Synopsis

  • tan to yellow to white to red to brown appearance depending upon vascularity, fibrosis, and hemosiderin deposition.
  • Most chorangiomas are small.
  • No clinical significance.
  • larger tumors can interfere with placental function, potentially causing stillbirth.
