Definition: Ascending infection from the gastrointestinal tract to the biliary tree. Adenoviral cholangiohepatitis occurs as a result of ascending infection by Adenovirus from the gastrointestinal tract to the biliary tree.

Synopsis
slight hepatocytic necrosis
cholangiohepatitis
progressive loss of interlobular bile ducts
adenoviral infection of the biliary tree
necrotizing cholangitis
adenoviral inclusions in the biliary epithelium
