Synopsis
located in the deep dermis, subcutis and rarely deep soft tissue
area of necrobiosis larger than the superficial type of granuloma annulare
granulation tissue
+/- lymphoid aggregates near palisaded granuloma
eosinophils more common
Differential diagnosis
rheumatoid nodule
- necrobiotic foci contain abundant fibrin
- +/- degenerated bundles of collagen
- palisade of elongated histiocytes
