tenascins

The tenascins are a family of extracellular matrix proteins (ECMs). The first member, termed tenascin or hexabrachion (TNC) (MIM.187380), attracted attention because of its prominent expression during tissue interactions in embryogenesis and its overexpression in many tumors.
