CDK5 and ABL enzyme substrate 1

CDK5 and ABL enzyme substrate 1 (CABLES1) is a cyclin-dependent kinase (CDKs)-binding protein that plays a role in proliferation and/or differentiation.

Pathology

- Loss of Cables 1 expression is observed in many human cancers such as colon, lung and endometrial.

- Loss of nuclear Cables 1 expression was observed with high frequency in a limited sample set of ovarian carcinomas, although the exact mechanisms which suppress Cables 1 function in ovarian cancer remain unknown.
