Breast reduction mammaplasty (RMP)
Breast reduction mammaplasty (RMP) for symptomatic macromastia or correction of asymmetry is performed in more than 100 000 patients per year in the United States.
The reported incidence of significant pathologic findings (SPF), that is, carcinoma and atypical hyperplasia, ranges from 0.06% to 12.8%. No standard pathology assessment for RMP exists.

hormonoresistance in breast cancer
27 May 2017Endocrine therapy is the mainstay of treatment of estrogen-receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer with an overall survival benefit. However, some adaptive mechanisms in the tumor emerge leading to the development of a resistance to this therapy.
Mechanisms of resistance to hormone therapy / hormonoresistance result in activation of transduction signal pathways, including the cell cycle regulation with cyclin D/CDK4/6/Rb pathway.
The strategy of combined hormone therapy with targeted agents (...) -

16 May 2017MucoceleLike Lesion of the breast
Mucocele-like lesions (MLLs) of the breast are characterized by cystic architecture with stromal mucin and frequent atypia, but it is unknown whether they convey long-term breast cancer risk.

adenomyoepithelial adenosis
2 May 2017apocrine adenosis; secretory adenosis PO
Definition: Uncommon variant of adenosis with proliferation of epithelial and myoepithelial cells. Adenomyoepithelial adenosis has prominent myoepithelial cells in 1-3 layers
Myoepithelial cells are widely present in the breast, and their hyperplasia may result in a spectrum of disease ranging from myoepitheliosis to myoepithelial carcinoma.

nodular adenosis
17 April 2017Nodular adenosis is a mammary adenosis presenting, as a mass (as nodular adenosis or adenosis tumor ) or as calcifications on imaging.
Sclerosing adenosis is a form of adenosis in which there is an expansion of terminal duct lobular units (TDLU) due to proliferation of glandular components, accompanied by stromal proliferation which is usually dense and hyalinized with resultant compression and distortion of glands.
Though it is often found as a microscopic lesion accompanying fibrocystic (...)
