Definition; Circumscribed, often large, breast mass usually occuring in adolescent females with stromal and epithelial hypercellularity but lacking the leaf-like growth pattern of phyllodes tumors.
Synopsis
Most patients age 10-20
Most fibroadenomas in adolescents are typical.
Circumscribed
Rarely multiple
Biphasic stromal and epithelial process

low grade, fibromatosis-like metaplastic carcinoma of the breast
9 May 2009Low grade, fibromatosis-like metaplastic carcinoma of the breast may arise de novo but may also be seen arising in association with papillomas and benign sclerosing lesions.
They are composed of bland spindle cells resembling those seen in scars or fibromatosis. In contrast to the cells of scars or fibromatosis, however, the spindle cells comprising these lesions show expression of cytokeratin, and some cases show epithelioid cell clusters or small foci of squamous differentiation.

IgG4-associated mastitis
30 April 2009Immunoglobulin G (IgG)4-related sclerosing disease is a recently described syndrome characterized by mass-forming lesions in various organs due to dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltrates and stromal sclerosis, elevated serum IgG4 titer, increased tissue IgG4 plasma cells, and favorable clinical outcome. IgG4-related sclerosing mastitis is one of the possible localization.
IgG4-related sclerosing mastitis appears to be a distinctive form of mastitis, sometimes accompanied by other components of (...)
