mammary invasive lobular carcinoma
9 February 2011breast invasive lobular carcinoma; invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast; mammary infiltrating lobular carcinoma; lobular carcinoma of the breast: mammary invasive lobular carcinoma; infiltrating lobular carcinoma of the breast PO WPA
Definition: Invasive lobular carcinoma shows single file infiltrative neoplastic cells, which are negative for E-cadherin and shows cytoplasmic p120 cadherin as opposed to surface p120.
The lesion usually presents as a palpable mass, and mammography (...) -

Definition: Invasive ductal carcinoma has malignant infiltrating glands with a desmoplastic stroma, and is negative for myoepithelial cell markers, such as p63 and SMA. It is graded by the Nottingham grading system, which depends on tubule formation, nuclear pleomorphism, and mitotic count.

ERBB2-associated mammary carcinoma
11 October 2010HER2 positive mammary carcinoma; HER2 positive breast cancer
One-third of patients with breast cancer overexpress the ERBB2 receptor tyrosine kinase, which is associated not only with a more aggressive phenotype but also reduced responsiveness to hormonal therapies. (#16883574#)
Around 20% of breast cancers (BC) show ERBB2 gene amplification and overexpression of the ERBB2 tyrosine kinase receptor. They are associated with a poor prognosis but can benefit from targeted therapy.

granulomatous mastitis
21 July 2010Etiology
In a case of granulomatous mastitis due to Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii, a strongly impaired neutrophil responses to Nod2 agonist and a single nucleotide polymorphism within the NOD2 gene (SNP13 [Leu1007fsinsC]) in a heterozygous state have been found. These findings provided a demonstration of impaired Nod2 function associated with corynebacterial infection. (#19641059#)
