Mallory bodies
14 December 2016Mallory body
Definition: Subtype of intermediate filament inclusions seen in hepatocytes in a variety of liver diseases and in pneumocytes.
Mallory bodies contain keratin-8 (KRT8) and keratin-18 (KRT18).

molecular pathology of liquid-based cytology
16 October 2016LBC may have disadvantages in long-term DNA preservation because of its accelerated DNA degradation compared with alcohol-fixed CS. Using primers to amplify shorter size fragments might be helpful in mitigating loss of signal due to DNA degradation in LBC.
