10 May 2009Adenomatoid odontogenic tumors are lesions that are characterized by a female:male incidence of 2:1, occurrence in the second decade and location in the anterior jaw with a maxilla: mandible ratio of 2:1. They may be associated with impacted teeth.
They are usually a unilocular on radiographs with a sharp border and may contain fine "snowflake" radio-opacities.
Microscopically they show spindle shape epithelial cells that form rosettes and duct like structures as well as showing amyloid (...)
