International experts met to discuss recent advances and to revise the 2004 recommendations for assessing and reporting precursor lesions to invasive carcinomas of the pancreas, including:
pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN),
intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN),
pancreatic mucinous cystic neoplasm ,
other lesions.

Definition: MCN is a benign or potentially low grade malignant cystic epithelial neoplasm composed of cells which contain intracytoplasmic mucin (WHO). It is one of three precursor lesions of pancreatic adenocarcinoma (with PanIN and IPMN ).
