TRC8/FHIT
21 April 2004Pathology
TRC8 gene was interrupted by a t(3;8)(p14.2;q24.1) translocation in a family with hereditary renal and non-medullary thyroid cancer (#470981#, #12522559#).
This translocation fuses FHIT with the patched-related gene TRC8 (#9689122#) with formation of the TRC8/FHIT fusion gene.

BRD4-NUT
4 December 2009BRD4/NUT
Definition: The protein encoded by BRD4 is homologous to the murine protein MCAP, which associates with chromosomes during mitosis, and to the human RING3 protein, a serine/threonine kinase. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
Each of these proteins contains two bromodomains, a conserved sequence motif which may be involved in chromatin targeting.
