cyclosporine renal toxicity

Monday 24 October 2005

- normal kidney (cyclosporine can cause renal dysfunction by inducing vasoconstriction in the absence of morphological damage)
- thrombotic microangiopathy (arterioles and glomerular tuft)
- chronic glomerular injury

- arteriolar hyalinosis (arteriolar hyalinization)

  • concentric hyalin and medial vacuolization
  • extension into the media

- striped interstitial fibrosis

  • fibrosis extending along medullary rays
