Desmoglein-4 (DSG4) is the main desmosome cadherin in hair follicle.
Pathology
DSG4 is an autoantigen in pemphigus vulgaris (MIM.169610).
mutation in the gene encoding desmoglein-4 (DSG4) causes localized autosomal recessive hypotrichosis (LAH) (MIM.607903)
