Definition: Epithelioid hemangioma is an uncommon vascular tumefaction of uncertain pathogenesis.

The anatomic sites most frequently affected by epithelioid hemangioma are the head (in the distribution of the superficial temporal artery) and the distal portions of the extremities, especially the digits.

- soft tissue epithelioid hemangioma
- penile epithelioid hemangioma (15087672)
- epithelioid hemangioma of bones

Microscopy

- proliferation of epithelioid endothelial cells
- nodular or lobular configuration
- inflammatory infiltrate containing lymphocytes and eosinophils
- associated with a small arterial segment

  • intraluminal epithelioid endothelial cells
