Differential diagnosis
microglandular hyperplasia
- The microglandular hyperplasia shows non neoplastic back-to-back glands with a neutrophilic infiltrate, accompanied by squamous metaplasia.
invasive endometrial carcinoma
- Invasive endometrial carcinoma shows malignant infiltrative glands with a desmoplastic response.
- It is differentiated from endocervical adenocarcinoma on IHC by positivity for vimentin and more frequent positivity for ER and PR.
