diffuse alveolar hemorrhage

Diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH) is a rare yet serious and frequently life-threatening complication of a variety of conditions.

Etiology

 coagulation disorders
 inhaled mycotoxins
 infections

• endotoxinic shock

 pulmonary capillaritis associated with systemic autoimmune diseases

• antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies-associated vasculitis
• anti-glomerular basement membrane disease
• systemic lupus erythematosus

 thrombotic microangiopathy

• bone marrow allograft-thrombotic microangiopathy (BMA-TMA) (7581082)
