sebaceous adenoma

Definition : Benign neoplasm composed of mature sebaceous lobules with the expansion of germinative basaloid cell layers at the periphery. It is associated with Muir-Torre syndrome, especially when it arises outside the head and neck region.

It is unrelated to adenoma sebaceum ( facial angiofibroma of tuberous sclerosis ).

- sebaceous hamartoma ( sebaceous nevus of Jadassohn )
- sebaceous hyperplasia
- sebaceoma
-  sebaceous carcinoma
- basal cell carcinoma with sebaceous differentiation
- trichoblastoma with sebaceous differentiation
- balloon cell melanoma


- Muir-Torre syndrome (MSI disease / MMR disease)
