CLINICAL: painful erythema and edema involving both ears and nose, eventually leading to flabby ears and saddle nose
HISTOPATHOLOGY: mixed inflammatory infiltrate (lymphocytes, plasma cells, and neutrophils) involving the deep dermis and cartilage. Cartilage cell vacuolisation and pyknosis leading to total destruction and replacement by fibrous tissue
DIFFERENTIAL: chondrodermatitis nodularis chronica helicis
