Clinical features

- affects older patients (mean age 62)
- predilection for Asian
- typically located in ocular sites (eyelids) > extraocular sites (head and neck) > trunk, genitalia, and extremities.
- sometimes associated with Muir-Torre syndrome

Differential diagnosis

- balloon cell melanoma
- clear cell squamous cell carcinoma
- clear cell basal cell carcinoma
- clear cell eccrine carcinoma
- trichilemmal carcinoma
- metastatic clear cell carcinoma of visceral origin
