cervical microglandular hyperplasia
Cervical microglandular hyperplasia shows non neoplastic back-to-back glands with a neutrophilic infiltrate, accompanied by squamous metaplasia.
A major clue to the diagnosis of microglandular hyperplasia is the neutrophils within the non-neoplastic glands.
Microglandular hyperplasia shows benign back to back glands with intraluminal neutrophils.
Differential diagnosis
invasive endometrial carcinoma
- Invasive endometrial carcinoma shows malignant infiltrative glands with a desmoplastic response.
- It is differentiated from endocervical adenocarcinoma on IHC by positivity for vimentin and more frequent positivity for ER and PR.perplasia
