Synopsis

- fetal gut-like differentiation, yolk sac-like areas and primitive blastoma foci of tubules embedded in blastema
- Glands and tubules strongly expressed SALL4 indicating primitive stem cell differentiation. Focal alpha-fetoprotein immunopositivity
- Blastemal stroma was strongly positive for glypican-3 a fetal oncoprotein
- Expands the remit of primitive, fetal gastric adenocarcinoma
