Poorly differentiated carcinomas are a heterogenous group of aggressive neoplasms that encompasses squamous cell carcinoma.

Some examples :
- basaloid variant of epidermoid carcinoma
- lymphoepithelial carcinoma
- undifferentiated carcinoma
- NUT midline carcinoma
- neuroendocrine-type small cell carcinoma
