dermatopathic adenopathy

Definition: A history of itching with findings of paracortical expansion of the lymph node by histiocytes containing melanin, lymphocytes, interdigitating reticulum cells, and Langerhans cells is most suggestive of dermatopathic lymphadenitis / lymphadenopathy.

- paracortical hyperplasia
- histiocytosis / histiocytic infiltration
- increased Langerhans cells / Langerhans cell infiltration
- pigmented histiocytes
- histiocytes with lipid vacuoles (spumous histiocytes / foamy histiocytes )
