nodular scleroderma
Tuesday 25 January 2011
nodular scleroderma; keloidal scleroderma; cutaneous nodular scleroderma
Cutaneous scleroderma usually appears as sclerosis or atrophy. The occurrence of nodular lesions on systemic or localized scleroderma was first described in 1884 by Addison.
Clinically, it is a keloidal nodule developing on sclerosis. Histological pattern can mimic keloid or scleroderma. The exact etiology remains unknown and usual therapeutic is poorly effective.
