- first branchial cleft anomaly
- opening in the infra-auricular region
- tortuous tract extending anteroinferiorly and medially from the external inframeatal opening to the lateral nasopharyngeal wall (anterior to the fossa of Rosenmuller)
- tract connected to the deep lobe of the parotid gland
