dermal histiocytic infiltration
Definition: Histiocytic infiltrates of the skin may represent a purely cutaneous phenomenon or they may be a manifestation of a systemic disorder in which proliferation of histiocytes is the prominent feature.
Etiology
mycobacteriosis
- immunoddeficiency
histiocytoses
- Langerhans histiocytosis
- non-Langerhans histiocytosis
- Erdheim-Chester disease
juvenile xanthogranuloma
giant cell reticulohistiocytoma
multicentric reticulohistiocytosis
- In multicentric reticulohistiocytosis, lesions of destructive arthropathy are also described.
