Umbilicus
Wednesday 25 November 2009
The umbilicus is an important embryological structure, into which the vitelline duct (omphalomesenteric) and urachus enter. Remnants of either structure may give rise to lesions at the umbilicus and, rarely, vestiges of both may coexist.
