- giant cell tumor of tendon sheath (nodular synovitis)
- diffuse-type giant cell tumors
- xanthomatous fibrous histiocytoma (inflammatory type)

Intermediate fibrohistiocytic tumors

- atypical fibroxanthoma
- dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (including pigmented form Bednar tumor)
- giant cell fibroblastoma
- plexiform fibrohistiocytic tumor (see also myofibroblastic tumors)
- angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma
- plexiform fibrous histiocytoma
- soft tissue giant cell tumor (of low malignant potential)

Malignant fibrohistiocytic tumors

- malignant fibrous histiocytoma
