IRX2 is a member of the Iroquois homeobox gene family IRXs. Members of IRXs family appear to play multiple roles during pattern formation of vertebrate embryos.

Pathology

- Copy number gains and high-level amplifications of the short arm of chromosome 5 are frequently observed in soft tissue sarcomas.
