Synopsis

- anti-SSA/Ro-SSB/La antibodies are detected in > 85% of mothers.

- heart in neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE)

  • congenital heart block (CHB) in a structurally normal heart
  • late onset cardiomyopathy
  • endocardial fibroelastosis
  • incomplete blocks

- lungs in neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE)

  • diffuse bilateral interstitial infiltrates
  • necrotizing capillaritis
  • alveolar hemorrhage
