pyrimidine nucleotide metabolism

 

Definition: A nitrogen-containing, single-ring, basic compound (cf. nitrogenous base) that occurs in nucleic acids.

The pyrimidines in DNA are cytosine and thymine. The pyrimidines in RNA are cytosine and uracil.
