clinodactyly
Definition: Clinodactyly is a fixed abnormal deviation of the finger in the coronal or radioulnar plane. It typically affects the middle phalanx of the fifth finger and produces a radial angulation of the distal interphalangeal joint.
Etiology
familial clinodactyly
- usually isolated
- being inherited as an autosomal dominant trait with variable expressivity and incomplete penetrance
otopalatodigital syndrome type 2 (OPD2)
trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) (60%)
normal population (18%)
