cervical polyp
benign glands with a sarcomatous stroma
- periglandular cuffs of increased cellularity
sarcomatous stroma - heterologous elements: striated muscle, lipoblasts, and cartilage
- +/- sarcomatous overgrowth of stromal elements
- high mitotic rate
Differential dianosis
cervical mullerian adenofibroma
- slit-like glands surrounded by a stroma with fibrosis
- low mitotic rate
cervical botryoid tumors
- embryonal rhabdomysarcoma (sarcoma botryoides)
cervical malignant mesodermal tumor
cervical carcinosarcoma
