portal infiltration by mononuclear cells (mainly lymphocytes)
steatosis
focal hepatocyte necrosis
lobular inflammation
enlarged Kupffer's cells
Kupffer's cells hyperplasia
small lobular granulomatoid clusters
lobular macrophages aggregates
lobular lymphocytes aggregates
Etiology:
infections, sepsis
inflammatory diseases
gastrointestinal diseases
pancreatic diseases
Differential diagnosis:
resolving acute hepatitis
mild chronic persistent hepatis
chronic lobular hepatitis
