Function
RECK regulates MMP-induced pericellular signaling cascades during embryogenesis and tumorigenesis. Homozygous loss of RECK results in embryonic lethality and attenuated tumor development in adults, thus providing further support for an efficacious role for protease inhibitors as anticancer therapeutics.
