Etiology

-  methionine synthase deficiency by mutations of gene MTR (1p43). Mutations in the MTR gene result in the methylcobalamin deficiency G (cblG) disorder, which is characterized by homocystinuria, hyperhomocysteinemia, and hypomethioninemia.
