tumoral 13q deletion

Bands 13q12-22 are frequently affected.

Tumors

- benign lipomatous tumors and low-malignant lipomatous tumors

NB: Deletions and structural rearrangements of the long arm of chromosome 13 are frequently observed in benign and low-malignant lipomatous tumors, but nothing is known about their molecular genetic consequences.

Target genes

- RB1
- BRCA2 in 13q12
- lipoma HMGIC fusion partner (LHFP) in 13q13
