19 June 2008Female hypogonadism may be acquired or congenital.
Etiology
Inflammation, chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide or radiation may destroy the function of a cyclic ovary. Congenital ovarian hypoplasia may affect one or both ovaries and there may be partial or complete ovarian dysfunction.

polypoid endometriosis
21 January 2007The term polypoid endometriosis was first coined by Mostoufizadeh and Scully for an uncommon and distinctive variant of endometriosis with histologic features simulating those of an endometrial polyp.
They also noted that this type of endometriosis may form large, often multiple, polypoid masses that not only simulate malignant tumors at operation but may also recur after operative removal.
