- marked eosinophilic infiltration
- peripheral eosinophilia

Differential diagnosis

- hypereosinophilic syndrome
- collagen vascular diseases
- parasites

- heart failure
- tissue injuries
- loss of muscle fibers
- interstitial fibrosis
- infiltrates of lymphocytes in the skeletal muscles, heart and various visceral organs
