- acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)


- extensive leiomyolysis of the muscularis propria
- numerous viral inclusions in the myocytes of the muscularis propria and vascular endothelium/smooth muscle with only occasional inclusions present in the muscularis mucosae
