ciliated cyst of the vulva
Ciliated cyst of the vulva is a rare anomaly. The cyst is lined with columnar ciliated epithelium that resembles müllerian epithelium and is located on the superior portion of the labium minus, occasionally associated with pregnancy or exogenous progesterone.
The origin of the ciliated epithelium is still unknown. However, chronic inflammation of the vulvar vestibulae may contribute to the pathogenesis of ciliated cyst of the vulva.
