- D2-40+ (50%), calponin+ (30%), desmin+ (30%), smooth muscle actin+ (30%)
Differential diagnosis
- dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans
- angiosarcomas : spindle cell angiosarcoma
- atypical fibrous histiocytoma
desmoplastic melanoma
- may have focal AFX-type features and stain negative for melanocytic markers (Am J Dermatopathol 2007;29:551)
fusiform cell squamous cell carcinoma / spindle cell type: deep extension, p63+
