foamy cell PIN
Thursday 16 February 2012
foamy cell prostate intraepithelial neoplasia
Very rare cases of foamy gland high-grade PIN have been published.
Microscopically, foamy PIN glands are large, with papillary infoldings
lined by cells with bland nuclei and xanthomatous cytoplasm.
In one case there was extensive associated Gleason grade 3+3=6 acinar adenocarcinoma, but no associated invasive foamy gland adenocarcinoma.
