mucinous PIN

Thursday 16 February 2012

Mucinous high grade PIN exhibits solid intraluminal masses of blue tinged mucin that fill and distend the PIN glands, resulting in a flat pattern of
growth.

This is a rare pattern. It is associated with adjacent, invasive, typical acinar adenocarcinoma (of Gleason score 5-7), but not mucinous adenocarcinoma.
