monosomy 7

Monday 19 May 2008

Monosomy 7 has been described in myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid or lymphoblastic leukemias, as well as in several benign or malignant solid tumors. It is not usual in adipose tissue tumors.

Tumors

- myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS or myelodysplasia)

  • Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a clonal hematopoietic disorder that often results in progression to acute myeloid leukemia (AML), particularly when additional genetic abnormalities are present, such as monosomy 7.

- spindle cell liposarcoma without 12q amplification (18617058)
