Single system ectopic ureters are usually associated with multiple congenital abnormalities and the corresponding renal units is frequently abnormal.

Synopsis

- unilateral or bilateral

- ectopic orifice

  • vaginal
  • vestibular
  • urethral
  • at the bladder neck
  • seminal vesicle
  • undetermined

- renal obstructive anomalies

  • obstructive renal dysplasia
  • chronic pyelonephritis

Associated anomalies (63%)

- unilateral or contralateral renal agenesis (26%)
- anorectal malformations
- hypospadias
- skeletal anomalies
- cryptorchidism
- unilateral cystic ovary
