gastric corpus. Adj. corporal

definition: The gastric body (gastric corpus) is the proximal ⅔ to ¾ of the stomach lying between the cardia and fundus proximally and the antrum distally. In the undistended state, rugae are observed grossly, and oxyntic mucosa is seen histologically.
