del(6q)
6q-, 6q deletion
Deletion of the long arm of chromosome 6 (del(6q)) is more frequently described in lymphoid proliferations than in other hematological malignancies.
Regions
deletions are mainly reported to be terminal, but also interstitial (6q11-14)
acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)
- childhood B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) (5-15%)
- childhood T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) (10-20%)
- adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia
chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
- atypical chronic lymphocytic leukemia
prolymphocytic leukemia
multiple myeloma (15%)
non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) (15% cases)
various cancers
