Synopsis
vascular changes in small muscular arteries
- concentric intimal or medial hyperplasia with luminal narrowing
- prominent myxoid change of the vascular wall
- extravasated red blood cells
- some foamy histiocytes with no evidence of thrombotic microangiopathy
Complications
intestinal ischemia (digestive BMA-SMAV)
pulmonary diffuse alveolar damage (DAD) with diffuse alveolar hemorrhages (DAH) (pulmonary BMA-SMAV)
